Job Summary
Manage and procure medical records for personal injury cases, ensuring HIPAA-compliant access and organized retrieval. Maintain and review records for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance; enter and update patient information in EHR systems; collaborate with healthcare professionals and legal teams to clarify and verify medical data critical for client cases; uphold strict confidentiality and data security in line with U.S. legal requirements. Requires a Bachelor’s in Health Information Management (or related field), proven experience in medical records roles within U.S. law firm environments (preferably personal injury), and proficiency with Filevine and EHR systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Experience as Medical Records Specialist or Health Information Technician in US law firm environments (personal injury focus preferred)
- Proficiency with Filevine software
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes
- Experience with EHR systems and medical software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and confidentiality/data security skills
- HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Ability to manage and procure medical records for legal cases
- Ability to work remotely from Colombia
- 40-hour workweek
