Job Summary

Assist physicians and providers in patient examinations and treatments while maintaining strict confidentiality under HIPAA and CLIA guidelines. Perform daily clinical duties including EKGs, basic drug administration, sterilization, and patient instruction, utilizing patient management software and Microsoft Office products. Maintain accurate records, manage patient schedules, and adhere to OSHA safety protocols and infection control procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. This role requires bilingual Spanish proficiency and a Medical Assistant certification. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, multi-tasking abilities, and experience in an ambulatory environment. Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration
  • Current CPR certification
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines
  • Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products
  • Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed
  • Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to work with challenging patients and clients

Desired Qualifications

  • One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferred
  • EPIC
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration required or obtained within 90 days of employment
