Job Summary
Bilingual Medical Assistant with clinical and administrative duties supporting healthcare providers in a primary care setting. Responsibilities include assisting in examinations and treatments, recording patient histories and vital signs, preparing examination rooms, performing basic clinical procedures (blood pressure, height/weight, specimen collection), administering medications and vaccines under supervision, scheduling and coordinating tests and referrals, maintaining EMR accuracy, handling prescriptions with physician approvals, returning patient calls, communicating with LabCorp and Quest, managing inventory, and traveling between Jacksonville locations to provide coverage. Strong attention to detail, crisis management, professional communication, and ability to work with diverse populations are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred in a primary care setting)
- At least 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience
- Strong proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and manage challenging patient interactions
- Completion of MA program with Diploma but not required
- Certification as CMA or RMA preferred but not required
