Job Summary
Bilingual Medical Assistant providing patient prep and care across Fort Worth and Southlake offices. Responsibilities include greeting patients, taking vital signs and medical history, assisting physicians and nurses with exams and procedures, performing in-office diagnostic tests (glucose checks, EKGs), administering injections and assisting with medication management, handling prescription refills and prior authorizations, educating patients on diabetes and thyroid conditions and medication adherence, maintaining accurate EMR with HIPAA compliance, and performing administrative tasks such as scheduling, phones, and insurance verification. Must maintain a clean clinical environment, have strong communication skills, and be reliable for travel between SW Fort Worth and Southlake locations; NextGen EMR experience is helpful but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant diploma
- Certification is a plus
- Will accept new graduates
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, patient, and physicians
- Demonstrates sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
- Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients and families
- Good computer skills using a medical management application (EHR)
- Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Must be reliable/dependable during work hours, as traveling to other office locations will be required
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have reliable transportation, as traveling to SW Fort Worth and Southlake locations will be required
- NextGen EMR/EHR helpful, not required
