Job Summary
Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide in-home and center-based therapy for youth in New Jersey. Responsibilities include individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth therapy, and outpatient center sessions; conduct bio-psycho-social assessments when applicable; provide coping and social skills training, anger management, and reduce risky behaviors; support decision-making in-home; collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals; complete required documentation (intake, treatment plans, DAP notes); attend monthly meetings; willing to train for bio-psycho-social assessments; must have a master’s degree in related fields, relevant licenses, trauma counseling training, crisis intervention training, and state/federal background checks; ability to work 6-10 hours per week after-school (12pm-8pm) with a 2–3 client caseload for part-time staff; driver’s license and work authorization required; compensation is $60-$75/hour; locations include East Orange, NJ; no visa sponsorship; generous benefits and PTO for part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields such as LSW, LAC, LFT
- Has Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Has some training or willing to complete Crisis Intervention Training
- Post-internship field experience with youth in mental health disorders with clinical experience
- Experience with treatment planning, treatment goal setting, progress notes, initial assessments
- Experience with CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Knowledge of DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Must be available for 6-10 hours per week after-school hours (12 noon - 8 pm); weekend flexibility a plus
- Must maintain a minimum caseload of 2-3 clients for part-time staff
- Experience with positive behavior supports
- Experience with children ages 3-20; I/DD experience a plus
- NJ Driver’s License
- Must pass state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Resume and copies of master's degree and NJ license/certification
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship (no H-1B sponsorship)
