Job Summary
Conduct client eligibility assessments using CIS and Infonet systems, completing intake paperwork for DHS, ICADV, and Medicaid. Develop individualized service plans and safety protocols via IM-CAT and IM-CANS assessments while assisting clients in filing protective orders and navigating the Lake County State's Attorney's Office. Accompany survivors to court hearings, explain legal procedures, and provide referrals to legal aid and community services. Educate law enforcement, court personnel, and interns on domestic violence protocols and the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. Collaborate with the Legal Advocacy Program team to develop bilingual, low-literacy educational materials regarding incarceration and domestic violence.
Required Qualifications
- A completed Legal Studies/Paralegal Career training and certification
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, criminal justice or closely related field
- High School diploma (GED) and three to five years of experience working with victims of domestic violence or within the criminal justice system
- Experience in the field of domestic violence and/or human trafficking
- Trauma informed knowledge of survivors' and their children's needs
- Bilingual (English-Spanish)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to accept, to understand, and to relate sensitively to people of varied socio-economic, racial, cultural, and experiential backgrounds

Desired Qualifications
