Job Summary
Oversee health services and coordinate timely, appropriate care for children in care by supervising Medical Coordinators and providing staff training on pediatric, adolescent, and migrant health topics. Develop and maintain policies for confidential health record management, triage, emergency response, and post-release care planning while ensuring compliance with PHI guidelines. Assist in scheduling appointments, transporting children to medical visits, and obtaining clearances, then prepare Treatment Authorization Requests and follow up on payments. Participate in intakes and discharges by preparing documentation packages and uploading records to health portals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and providers to ensure appropriate care, report emergencies via SIR/CLE, and support foster parents with medical education and authorization documents. Maintain stocked medicine cabinets and first aid kits, complete assigned documentation within timeframes, and provide in-service training on medication administration, CPR, and First Aid. Maintain Red Cross certifications and assist Program Leadership during auditing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- Bachelor's or Higher health-related education qualification
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
- Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care
- 1 year of experience working in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent driving record
- Safe and clean personal vehicle
- Current automobile insurance
- Ability to maintain compliance with attending agency required training programs
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs
- Must be open to and willing to work non-traditional hours
- Available for on-call phone consultations as needed
- Maintain Red Cross CPR/First Aid Trainer's Certifications
