Job Summary
Bilingual Juvenile Counselor II responsible for direct work with youth and families navigating the juvenile justice system, supervising youth on probation or informal supervision, coordinating with schools and service providers, preparing court reports, and representing cases in court. Ideal candidates are bilingual in Spanish and English, organized, able to document efficiently, communicate clearly with youth and families, and present in court. Roles span Hill sboro and Beaverton regions within Washington County, with collaboration across schools, attorneys, and community partners to balance accountability, growth, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, or a field applicable to the practice of juvenile justice; AND one (1) year of experience working with juveniles and families in the counseling and case management of juveniles and families; OR Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, or a field applicable to the practice of juvenile justice; AND three (3) years of experience working with juveniles and families in the counseling and case management of juveniles and families; OR Associate's degree in criminal justice, counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, or field applicable to the practice of juvenile justice; AND five (5) years of supervised work experience in the counseling of juveniles and families; OR Seven (7) years of supervised work experience in the counseling of juveniles and families.
Additional Requirements
- Driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and acceptable driving record per county policy.
- Completion of a criminal history check in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules.
- Must pass a Spanish language proficiency test demonstrating ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
