Job Summary
Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials, managing classroom displays, and conducting exercises with individual students or small groups. Administer and score objective testing instruments, maintain neat classroom environments, and manage equipment inventory. Provide orientation to substitute teachers, participate in bilingual staff development, and prepare administrative reports and LPAC paperwork. Supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty, while keeping teachers informed of special needs. Maintain emotional control under stress and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 48 semester hours of college credit or an Associates Degree or has demonstrated a rigorous standard of high quality instruction through a formal state or local academic assessment
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children in both English and Spanish
- General knowledge of office equipment
