Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one or small group instruction in the resource room using trauma-informed strategies to support students with special needs. Accurately collect and document data related to academic progress, behavior, and IEP goals while administering assessments as directed. Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation, classroom management, and delivering reinforcement in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional areas. Provide direct support for students during arrival, departure, transit, recess, and meal times, including supervision of cross walks and hallways. Translate verbal and written information for students, parents, and district personnel. Administer first aid and assist with personal care needs such as diapering, toileting, and tube feeding. Maintain accurate student records within the information management system and adhere to all district safety policies and CPI-approved de-escalation protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish)
- Associates degree (AAS, AA) or higher
- Earned 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits in college level 100 or higher courses
- Passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) paraeducator assessment
- Valid First aid and/or CPR card for infants and children
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) trained
- Passing score on district administered bilingual test
Desired Qualifications

- Experience working with students who are special needs
- Prior experience in a K-12 school setting
- Willingness to review materials provided by district personnel
- Willingness to attend college classes for the purpose of improving instructional skills
