Job Summary
Roofmart is seeking a Bilingual Health and Safety Specialist to join its Canadian team. You will lead and facilitate Health and Safety Training, ensure legislative requirements are met, and report to the Health and Safety Manager. The role requires delivering training in both French and English, collaborating with managers, updating curricula, developing new training materials, and maintaining a clean training environment. Travel across Canada is expected. The position emphasizes adherence to health and safety policies, certification in trainer programs (forklift operation and first aid), and strong communication skills to motivate participants to comply with safety teachings. Required Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Health and Safety Management preferred
- 3-5 years of Health and Safety experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in both English and French
- Good knowledge of laws, regulations and standards governing occupational health and safety in Canada
- Certified Train the Trainer in Forklift Operation
- Certified Train the Trainer in First Aid
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to travel
- Knowledge of major risks related to commercial vehicles, machine safety, lockout/tagout, working at heights, chemical management and ergonomics
- Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, and Windows Applications
