Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and a structured family-like environment for ~8–13 students per home. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and supporting multiple student homes before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent in a fixed home. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement options, paid time off, and housing/meal provisions. The role requires two spouses to apply individually for consideration, with additional requirements including a high school diploma/GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to campus policies on smoking, alcohol, and pet limits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Two-year minimum of marriage for both spouses
- Couple must both complete individual employment applications
- Experience with youth preferred
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty

- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
