Job Summary
Credit Recovery Specialist responsible for maintaining an overall minimal delinquency ratio on Tangerine's portfolio (Chequing and Loans). Duties include analyzing client activity for irregular activity, contacting clients to determine arrears and elicit promises to pay, documenting conversations, resolving daily returned payments, and escalating as needed. You will contact clients to minimize loss and maximize recovery of past-due accounts, respond to internal/external requests regarding delinquent accounts, assist the call centre with escalated resolutions, value customer complaints, issue delinquency notices, review and update credit bureau information, review and process bankruptcies and related proposals within prescribed timelines, identify actions prior to agency placement/write-off, and contribute to continuous improvement of delinquency management processes. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of banking products and compliance obligations.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma/degree
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in banking or account recovery
- Bilingual in English and French
- Computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Detail Oriented
- Proficiency in banking systems: DAWT, Profile IBS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Phone Etiquette
- Proficient organizational skills
- Proficient analytical skills to identify problems; validate and make recommendations
- Sound understanding of collection systems
