Job Summary

Create a developmentally appropriate program for students by developing weekly lesson plans, activities, and class set-ups that meet individual needs. Assess children's needs and development to adjust plans, while ensuring safety and maintaining a positive educational environment. Provide guidance to Assistant Educators to resolve student issues and document attendance and progress per requirements. Participate in on-call schedules and recruitment activities as needed. Maintain bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to support diverse learners.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or Elementary Education
  • Willingness to obtain TESL certification paid by NYAP
  • 2+ years' experience in teaching capacity and lesson planning
  • Passionate about the development and well-being of children
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • 21 years of age
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Good driving record
  • Bilingual (English Spanish)
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers
  • Proficient use of internet search
  • Proficient use of people management programs
  • Proficient use of smart phones and tablets
  • Proficient use of printers
  • Proficient use of fax machines
  • Proficient use of photocopiers
  • Proficient use of word processing software
  • Proficient use of spreadsheet programs
  • Proficient use of database programs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of an extended, cross functional team
