Job Summary
Create a developmentally appropriate program for students by developing weekly lesson plans, activities, and class set-ups that meet individual needs. Assess children's needs and development to adjust plans, while ensuring safety and maintaining a positive educational environment. Provide guidance to Assistant Educators to resolve student issues and document attendance and progress per requirements. Participate in on-call schedules and recruitment activities as needed. Maintain bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to support diverse learners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or Elementary Education
- Willingness to obtain TESL certification paid by NYAP
- 2+ years' experience in teaching capacity and lesson planning
- Passionate about the development and well-being of children
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- 21 years of age
- Valid state driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Good driving record
- Bilingual (English Spanish)
- Fluency in Spanish
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers
- Proficient use of internet search
- Proficient use of people management programs
- Proficient use of smart phones and tablets
- Proficient use of printers
- Proficient use of fax machines
- Proficient use of photocopiers
- Proficient use of word processing software
- Proficient use of spreadsheet programs
- Proficient use of database programs
