Job Summary
Conduct detailed functional assessments and adjudicate complex disability claims by reviewing medical and workplace documentation while ensuring accurate entry into the Internal Claims Management System. Manage the full lifecycle of claims, including psychological cases and co-morbid conditions, by developing individualized recovery and transitional return-to-work plans in collaboration with healthcare providers and employers. Provide guidance to Recovery Facilitators on complex decisions and client-specific protocols to promote consistency. Maintain up-to-date status on all files, complete regular team reviews, and close claims upon successful return to work. Bilingual in French and English. Base salary $60,000-$67,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in French and English including both written and oral
- Relevant experience in Disability Management / Claims Adjudication / Return-To-Work Initiatives / STD and LTD Claims Management
- Knowledge and understanding of short-term, or long-term disability programs, various treatment programs, and return to work planning and initiatives
- Understanding of medical terminology, and common physical and mental health conditions
- A registered professional designation / certification or working towards is an asset: (RN, RPN, Kin., RRP or other related healthcare background; Certified Disability Management Practitioner / Certified Return to Work Coordinator
Desired Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn an internal database system
