Job Summary
Determine customer needs and recommend appropriate paint and coating solutions to wholesale and retail clients. Resolve customer concerns promptly while maintaining product knowledge and visual display standards. Process sales transactions, pull merchandise from the sales floor or warehouse, and tint and mix products to customer specifications. Build trust relationships with customers and suggest ways to improve sales performance. Maintain precise work order files, comply with inventory control procedures, and ensure assigned areas remain in-stock and presentable. Stock shelves, set up displays, clean store equipment, and load/unload delivery trucks as needed. Assist in making deliveries and work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals while ensuring maximum client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
- Valid, unrestricted Driver's License
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams: received at least a 'meets expectations' (3) rating on most recent performance appraisal
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams: completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for current position
Desired Qualifications
- At least a High School diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
- Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
- Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
