Job Summary
Conduct trauma-informed mental health services including assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and screening for human trafficking concerns for children, youth, and foster families. Perform on-site visits and home checks for foster caregivers while coordinating medical, educational, and psychological services with community partners. Complete required documentation, risk assessments, and safety plans under supervision to support reunification goals. Travel 25-30% of the time to escort youth and facilitate family visits, adhering to flexible hours and on-call rotations for nights and weekends. Maintain an active caseload and participate in cross-functional staffing to ensure timely service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline in which clinical experience is a program requirement.
- Must be license-eligible, actively working toward professional licensure providing clinical services under supervision while developing required competencies and clinical hours.
- Non-licensed staff must be actively working towards licensure while employed and attain licensure within 3 years of employment date.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required to serve the children and families.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours with a possibility of being on call on nights/weekends, in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and people served.
- Must be able to organize, navigate, and physically escort youth to various travel destinations possibly including airlines, trains, and buses.
- Travel may include out-of-state trips up to 25%-30% to unify youth with families.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
- 21 years of age, a valid state driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
- Follow ORR, CDC, and State Covid 19 related protocols.
- Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Ability to travel frequently and drive vehicle while sitting for extended periods, with frequency varying based on program demands.
