Job Summary
Conduct trauma-informed mental health services including assessments, counseling, crisis intervention, and family sessions for children and youth in foster care. Perform on-site and home visits, screen for human trafficking, and coordinate medical, educational, and psychological services with community providers. Complete required clinical assessments, safety plans, and documentation while maintaining caseload thresholds and participating in cross-functional staffing. Travel up to 30% of the time to escort youth and facilitate reunification with sponsor families. Requires bilingual English/Spanish fluency, a Master's or doctorate degree, and licensure eligibility. Flexible non-traditional hours and on-call availability are necessary to support foster caregivers and families.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline in which clinical experience is a program requirement.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure.
- Non-licensed staff must be actively working towards licensure while employed and attain licensure within 3 years of employment date.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required to serve the children and families.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours with a possibility of being on call on nights/weekends, in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and people served.
- Must be able to organize, navigate, and physically escort youth to various travel destinations possibly including airlines, trains, and buses.
- Travel may include out-of-state trips up to 25%-30% to unify youth with families.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
- 21 years of age, a valid state driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
- Follow ORR, CDC, and State Covid 19 related protocols.
- Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Ability to travel frequently and drive a vehicle while sitting for extended periods, with frequency varying based on program demands.
