Job Summary
Welcome and prepare clients for medical appointments, gather health histories, and document patient information accurately. Record vital signs, perform CLIA-waived pregnancy and STI testing after training, and educate clients on reproductive health. Enter and maintain patient documentation in the electronic medical record system while preparing exam rooms and supporting clinical staff during visits. Ensure HIPAA compliance and safeguard confidential medical information throughout each client's journey. This bilingual role supports physicians, nurses, and other staff in a collaborative, faith-based nonprofit environment dedicated to providing free pregnancy-related medical services and resources to women and families in Sarasota.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Technician, or equivalent clinical credential.
- Minimum of one year of patient care experience in a healthcare environment such as a physician practice, outpatient clinic, urgent care, hospital, or women's health office.
- Experience obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information.
- Comfortable working directly with patients in a compassionate, service-oriented setting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Have a personal Christian faith and lifestyle consistent with the organization's mission.
- Support the Center's life-affirming philosophy.
- Be willing to affirm and follow the organization's Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and employment policies.
- Employment is contingent upon successfully completing pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug screening.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Two or more years of clinical experience.
- Women's health or OB/GYN experience.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly eClinicalWorks.
- Experience with specimen collection or laboratory testing.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates empathy and professionalism with every client.
- Is highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment.
- Is comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and EMR software.
- Works well independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Is dependable, flexible, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
