Job Summary
Support the Bariatrics group in West Orange, NJ by assisting physicians with patient care, managing clerical tasks, and organizing patient flow. Accompany patients to exam rooms, handle transfers, collect specimens, and prepare for procedures while obtaining demographics and maintaining confidentiality. Perform screenings, monitor vital signs, and assist nurses with procedures as needed. Answer incoming calls and relay instructions to patients and families. Work flexible hours across multiple locations to cover shortages, FMLA, and vacations. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Medical Assistant Diploma
- RMA, AMT or AAMA Certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- CPR Certification
- Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary and injection experience
- Minimum of one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or externship completion in a medical office
