Job Summary
Assist the teaching staff in developing lesson plans based on state requirements and monitor the academic progress of each child. Collaborate with educators to deliver daily lesson plans and provide feedback on important issues pertaining to the children. Work directly with individual children in the classroom to promote their learning and development while performing duties consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's mission. Maintain fluency in English and Spanish, hold a valid driver's license, and possess a reliable personal vehicle. Requires an associate degree in education, ECE certification, and two years of experience working with minority children.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in education and/or early childhood education
- 2+ years' experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional, working with minority children in a classroom environment
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
- Bilingual (English Spanish)
- Fluency in Spanish
- 21 years of age
- Valid state driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Good driving record
- Ability to travel frequently and drive vehicle while sitting for extended periods, with frequency varying based on program demands
Desired Qualifications
- Valid ECE certification preferred
