Job Summary
Assist the teaching staff by developing lesson plans based on state requirements and specific child needs, then collaborate to monitor academic progress and deliver daily instruction. Work directly with individual children in the classroom to promote their learning and development while providing regular feedback to the Lead Educator regarding child progress and important issues. Ensure all duties align with the National Youth Advocate Program's mission, values, and philosophies. Requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, an Associate degree in education, and 2+ years of experience working with minority children. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in education and/or early childhood education
- 2+ years' experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional, working with minority children in a classroom environment
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
- Bilingual (English Spanish)
- Fluency in Spanish
- 21 years of age
- Valid state driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Good driving record
- Ability to travel frequently and drive vehicle while sitting for extended periods, with frequency varying based on program demands
Desired Qualifications
- Valid ECE certification preferred
