Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, including preparing and managing classroom activities and routines. Assist the Bilingual teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEP), 504 Plans, and Response to Intervention (RTI) accommodations while helping maintain orderly classrooms and administrative records. Supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties, and make teachers aware of special needs or problems. This role supports the Model KISD core organizational beliefs and values to contribute to high student achievement. The position requires a valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and conversational proficiency in Spanish or Vietnamese.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Have met formal academic assessment, associate degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*
- Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
- An associate degree, two years of study at an institute of higher learning or have met formal academic assessment Required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
- Experience working with children
- Must be conversationally proficient in the assigned foreign language
