Bike Tour Guide (Experienced)

Job Summary
Safely lead biking tours in the Pacific Northwest while managing risks in remote settings and providing meaningful interpretation on natural and cultural history topics. Engage guests positively to meet their needs, lead activities per the itinerary, and support team members through pack-up and clean-up phases. Maintain equipment, represent ROW's mission, follow the Guide Manual policies, and adhere to Leave No Trace practices. Perform at least 10 hours of off-river warehouse work each season. Requires one year of commercial guiding experience, advanced First Aid certification, and physical fitness for long hours in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Legally allowed to work in the United States
- At least one year of previous commercial bike guiding experience
- multi-day experience
- A current 36 hour minimum or higher advanced First Aid certification
- current CPR
- A positive, supportive team player
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Physically fit
- ability to work long hours in the field
- ability to lift and load bikes on and off vehicles
- Willing and eager to interact positively with a range of age groups, from small children to seniors
- Ability to follow ROW's drug-free and tobacco free workplace policy
Desired Qualifications
- WEC, WAFA, WFR, WEMT, EMT preferred
- Experience in guest services or group leadership
- Academic or professional background or equivalent experience in natural science, western American history, environmental education or conservation related field
