Job Summary
Conduct downhill and cross-country trail building, maintenance, and inspection while operating chainsaws, hand tools, and heavy equipment. Build new trail tread, maintain existing paths, and construct wooden structures including drops, jumps, bridges, and boardwalks. Manage facility clean-up, slope reclamation, and slash pile burning while coordinating with Mountain Bike Patrol, Lift Operations, and other resort teams. Work four consecutive ten-hour shifts across all weather conditions, requiring extreme physical exertion and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Maintain accurate, independent judgment with minimal direction while ensuring trails remain safe and enjoyable for riders.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of trail structure
- Valid Driver's license
- Willing to work a flexible schedule and in all weather conditions
- Must be an avid mountain biker, riding at an intermediate level or higher
- Must be physically fit
- Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 50lbs unassisted
- Must be able to carry heavy equipment
- Must be able to hike to job locations
- Must work as a team and contribute to a team effort by good communication and sharing job responsibilities
- Must be able to complete jobs accurately with little direction and work independently
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with chainsaws, in or around heavy equipment, and hand tools
- Trail building experience
- Forestry awareness
