Job Summary

Conduct spring trail cleanup by removing downed limbs, clearing culverts, repairing bridges, and raking debris. Use hand tools and power equipment to shape dirt features, perform tree removal, and maintain weeds and brush. Assist equipment operators with trail feature installations and support Mountain Patrol with closures, openings, and radio dispatches. Educate guests on trail etiquette and safety, monitor daily trail conditions, and assist with events and photo shoots as directed. Provide wayfinding and trail recommendations to guests. Requires 1+ years of trail maintenance experience, ability to lift 50 pounds, and weekend/holiday flexibility.

Required Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid US Driver's License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in mountainous terrain: frequent walking/hiking up and down uneven terrain in all weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity, rain, wind, sleet, and snow)
  • Ability to work in noisy environments (hearing protection provided)
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and hike with upwards of 50 pounds of tools and equipment, as well as all types of natural debris commonly found in the woods
  • This is a strenuous job – ability to bend, kneel, reach, push, pull and stand for long periods of time is required
  • Flexibility with scheduling – this position works weekends and holidays
  • 1+ years of trail building and maintenance experience
  • Ability to mountain bike at an intermediate level
  • Basic understanding of mountain biking culture
  • Experience operating off-road vehicles such as ATV and SXS
  • Knowledge of proper operation of various power tools and other hand-held equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently individually and with a team
  • Ability to follow specific directions to complete tasks
  • Willingness to learn new skills and expand knowledge of trail building and maintenance
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
