Job Summary
Incorporate Bills of Materials into financial templates, lead proposal cost scrubs, and perform gross margin and return on sales analysis to support public safety and professional communications proposals. Prepare financial charts, execute what-if analysis during pricing meetings, and translate technical solutions into customer-facing price pages while educating sales teams on financial data. Manage post-submittal activities including customer evaluation questions, scope changes, and negotiations, then handle revision control and final file turnover upon contract execution. Take full ownership of assigned proposals, communicate key status updates and financials to management, and address non-standard hours as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's with 4 years prior experience in accounting or finance
- Graduate Degree with 2 years prior experience in accounting or finance
- Strong Excel (pivots, XLOOKUP's, VLOOKUP's, work in large/lots of tabs)
- Ability to analyze data, good business/finance background
- Bids and analysis proposals/bill of materials
- Cost variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast)
- Good communication skills and customer service skills, on the phone a lot
- Work with and communicate with Systems Engineers, program managers, finance, different levels of management; able to work on cross-functional teams
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Must be comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize and multi-task while working on multiple proposal teams simultaneously
- Proposal schedules and follow-on support may require availability during non-standard hours on occasion
