Job Summary
Operate Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines to achieve specified grade, elevation, and surface finish requirements on bridge and roadway construction projects. Set up, calibrate, and adjust machine components before and during concrete placement, while monitoring performance for real-time adjustments. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including replacing worn components like motors and bearings. Read equipment manuals, specifications, and construction plans to coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and survey crews. Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections, maintain records, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety policies. Requires 5+ years of experience operating similar equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and ability to work extended hours and travel across multiple states.
Required Qualifications
- 5 + Years Experience operating Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines or similar concrete paving equipment
- Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, grading, and bridge construction processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment maintenance and repair
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and project specifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to project sites as required
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing
