Job Summary
Operate Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines to achieve specified grade, elevation, and surface finish requirements while setting up, calibrating, and adjusting components before and during concrete placement. Monitor machine performance for real-time adjustments, perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and lubrication, and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Replace worn components such as motors, bearings, hoses, chains, and hydraulic systems, and read equipment manuals, specifications, and construction plans. Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections, maintain records, coordinate with superintendents and survey crews, and follow OSHA regulations and safety policies. Requires 5+ years operating Bid-Well equipment, knowledge of concrete placement and grading, strong mechanical aptitude, valid driver's license, and ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel across multiple states in the Southwest.
Required Qualifications
- 5 + Years Experience operating Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines or similar concrete paving equipment
- Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, grading, and bridge construction processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment maintenance and repair
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and project specifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to project sites as required
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing
