Job Summary

Lead and coordinate end-to-end bid responses for complex, high-value tenders, from publication through handover to the delivery team. Analyze newly selected tenders and markets to understand operational dynamics and client expectations. Assess project risks, contribute to go/no-go decisions, and incorporate committee feedback into submissions. Lead working sessions and negotiations with clients, partners, and subcontractors while building and motivating the bid team. Ensure proposals address client requirements, remain profitable, and adhere to appropriate risk profiles and deadlines. Proactively raise concerns through governance channels and support early delivery phases by archiving documentation and contributing to lessons-learned reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering or business school graduate
  • Significant experience in engineering environments for infrastructure or technologically complex systems
  • Track record of leading complex, high-value bids
  • Ability to understand technical and operational contexts across environmental, health and safety, legal (risk analysis), commercial (pricing strategy) and financial (P&L, cash flow) dimensions
  • Proven ability to develop business plans and pricing models
  • Curious, entrepreneurial mindset — the capacity to think without preconceptions, approach problems from multiple angles, and bring innovation to tenders and proposed solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project teams in a multicultural environment
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to stay focused on objectives and make decisions under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively both internally and with external partners
  • High degree of flexibility and autonomy to thrive within a small, high-performing team
  • Confident, polished communication skills, both written and verbal, with the presence to engage clients, partners and stakeholders
  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Willingness to travel within Australia and internationally for periods ranging from a few days to several weeks
