Job Summary
Bicycle Wayfinding Program Coordinator to revamp and create a comprehensive bicycle wayfinding program for NYC’s greenway network. Responsibilities include inventorying and GIS-database creation of greenway/bicycle wayfinding signage, analyzing signage networks, producing a citywide strategy plan with design siting and maintenance guidelines, on-site user testing, coordinating internal workshops, documenting design and content guidelines, integrating new graphic specifications across products, producing signage network plans, maintaining bicycle facility GIS data, creating the annual NYC DOT bike map using Adobe Creative Suite, reviewing work from consultants/partners, and producing programmatic analyses for DOT leadership. Preferred skills include GIS mapping, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Illustrator), CAD, Microsoft Office, relational databases, strong organization and communication, urban design/graphic design background, and willingness to work in the field in all seasons.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.
