Job Summary
Bicycle Wayfinding Program Coordinator within NYC DOT’s Furniture and Operations Unit. Responsibilities include managing planning and development to revamp a comprehensive bicycle wayfinding program, creating a GIS inventory of greenway/bicycle wayfinding signage, analyzing the signage network, conducting on-site user testing, facilitating internal workshops, documenting design and siting guidelines, integrating new graphic specifications across products, producing signage network plans, maintaining GIS data for NYC DOT, and creating the annual NYC DOT bike map using Adobe Creative Suite. The role requires collaboration with multiple NYC DOT units and partner agencies, strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work in the field across seasons by bike, on foot, or via mass transit.
Required Qualifications
- Permanent civil service title of Graphic Artist or be reachable on civil service list #4123
- Bachelor's degree in fine or graphic arts or equivalent with one year of full-time paid experience as a graphic artist; or a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of approved technical training and three years of full-time paid experience as a graphic artist
- Experience as a Graphic Artist (Assignment Level I) and progression requirements for Assignment Level II (one year of experience as Graphic Artist, Assignment Level I or equivalent qualifications)
