Job Summary
BHS Technician at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) performing electro-mechanical operational, preventative, and emergency maintenance on baggage handling systems. Responsibilities include using tools safely, inspecting belts, motors, carousels, and belts, completing PM tasks, recording work orders, following safety policies and LOTO procedures, diagnosing equipment failures under supervision, performing component replacements (bearings, motors, belts, sensors, and related wiring), and participating in required training. Must work a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week schedule with shift assignments based on airport needs and technician strengths. Requires High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years mechanical experience plus 1+ year electrical/electronic systems experience. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- read, write, speak, and understand English
- read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics
- at least 2 years of mechanical work experience
- at least 1 year of basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience
- ability to pass drug screen, background check, and airport security requirements
