Job Summary
Special Education Math Teacher needed for 9th-12th grade students. Provide instructional activities and experiences designed to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons to match student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. Responsibilities include collaborating with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD, implementing instructional or therapeutic programs, conducting ongoing assessments of student achievement, employing varied instructional techniques and technology, supporting regular class curricula modifications, participating in ARD meetings, selecting instructional media, supervising instructional aides, and maintaining open communication with parents and colleagues. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, valid Texas teaching certificate with SPED endorsements, knowledge of ARD/IEP processes, effective communication skills, and experience with student teaching or related work. Supervisory responsibilities include directing instructional aides; physical and safety considerations are noted in the role.
