Job Summary
Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on baggage handling systems including conveyors, motors, sensors, and scanners. Diagnose equipment failures under guidance, clear system jams, and replace defective components like bearings and belts. Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues while maintaining accurate maintenance logs and work orders. Ensure safety compliance, follow lockout/tag-out procedures, and respond promptly to emergency calls for baggage system breakdowns. Work a flexible 24/7 schedule with shift assignments based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
- at least 1(+) year of mechanical work experience
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics
- Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation)
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen
- Must be able to successfully pass a driver's license check
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check
- Must be able to successfully pass required federal fingerprinting
- Must be able to successfully pass security threat assessment
- Must be able to successfully pass airport security badging
