Job Summary
Inspect curbside and ticket counter hardware, belts, motors, and carousels while performing preventative maintenance, cleaning, and debris removal. Diagnose equipment failures, clear system jams, and make minor adjustments to electrical and mechanical items under senior guidance. Utilize tools and PPE safely to respond to E-Calls, replace components, and assist technicians in repairs. Analyze situations to provide solutions and communicate effectively with the supervisory team. Maintain safety compliance and attend required training. This entry-level career-track role at Orlando International Airport requires a flexible schedule covering 24 hours, seven days a week, with a starting hourly rate of $22.00.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
- at least 1(+) year of mechanical work experience
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- ability to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics
- ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day
- ability to frequently lift/move items that may range in weight up-to 50 pounds, and occasionally up-to 100 pounds
- ability to work safely in a variety of locations that may include moving equipment and electricity, as well as small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, hot spaces
- specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- ability to successfully pass a drug screen
- ability to pass a driver's license check
- ability to pass a background check
- ability to undergo required federal fingerprinting
- ability to pass a security threat assessment
- ability to obtain airport security badging
- expected commitment of at least 1 year
- ability to work as scheduled (24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation)
- willingness to learn
- ability to effectively communicate with Senior Technicians and/or Supervisory team when necessary
