Job Summary
Lead 7th Grade Volleyball coaching at Beverly Hills Middle School, delivering daily practice instruction, skills development, and character education while managing team rosters and equipment. Enforce PIAA and league rules, maintain accurate scorebooks, and monitor student-athlete academic progress alongside regular communication with parents and athletic trainers. Provide leadership and mentoring to foster sportsmanship, high standards, and good citizenship within a diverse school community. Report injuries, facility concerns, and behavioral issues immediately to the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
- Prior successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school and/or college level
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community
- Considerable knowledge of and experience coaching that sport, including competitions, practices, and strength/conditioning
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work
- High school or collegiate playing experience
- Experience working with middle and high school-aged students
- A positive student-centered approach to coaching
- Demonstrated technical, theoretical, and applied knowledge pertinent to the assigned sport
- CPR and first aid certified or the ability to become certified
- Strong affinity for the mission of Upper Darby School District and an educational philosophy consistent with the school's mission and values
- Knowledge of basic computer operations
- Clearance for Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34)
- Clearance for Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
- Clearance for FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114)
- Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
