Job Summary
Provide personal care for clients including bathing, showering, oral hygiene, skin care, dressing, and shaving. Assist with nutritional needs by serving, feeding, and managing fluid requirements. Support restorative care through range-of-motion exercises, proper positioning, and ambulation to encourage independence. Exchange client information with supervisors via a communications binder and launder personal items as needed. Maintain a pleasant, respectful demeanor while exercising standard infection control precautions. Travel to clients throughout Charleston County using reliable transportation. This role is part of a faith-based retirement community's home department focused on emotional and social well-being.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1year experience within long-term care for the elderly
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written
- Willingness to travel to clients throughout Charleston County
- Has reliable transportation to and from James Island
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- home care experience
