Job Summary
Conduct video or phone interviews with study subjects in Ukraine, transcribe and translate those interviews from Ukrainian or Russian to English, and perform inductive qualitative coding and analysis of the data. Assist with participant recruitment via email, phone, or in-person contact, verify inclusion criteria, and track consent status. Contribute to manuscript preparation by drafting sections, synthesizing findings, and incorporating feedback through revision cycles. Serve as the key liaison between Ukrainian participants and the MGH research team, documenting communications to keep the broader team informed of progress and emerging issues. Monitor and respond to incoming messages promptly and escalate urgent issues such as participant safety or logistical disruptions immediately. Maintain confidentiality when managing sensitive information and attend regular team check-in meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in English, Ukrainian, and Russian languages
- Must be fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and English
- Must have access to a private setting (such as home office) to conduct phone and video interviews
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must always maintain confidentiality; ability to manage sensitive, confidential, and complex information with discretion
Desired Qualifications
- An interest in policies and practices relating to gender-based violence
- Experience with clinical research
- A deep understanding of Ukrainian culture
- Certification in protection of human subjects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience conducting interviews
- Confidence and comfort working independently
- Demonstrates excellent communication and professionalism
