Job Summary
Directly supervise, recruit, train, and schedule staff and volunteers across Beyond the Bell sites in Brantford, Six Nations, and Mississauga. Manage operating budgets, monitor expenses, and maintain accurate participant records while ensuring compliance with YMCA standards and Ministry of Sport guidelines. Develop innovative learning methodologies, foster relationships with families and school boards, and assume frontline responsibilities including behavior management and health and safety oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Studies, Recreation and Leisure and/or related field
- A minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability in leading, coaching and cultivating a work environment of collaboration and teamwork
- Knowledge of child development and related 'new' research, and its application in children's recreational programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging community trends
- Ability to work effectively both independently and establish effective working relationships with staff, families and community partner agencies
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management skills; must be able to plan and prioritize work assignments
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office email and/or internet applications
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C including AED certification
- Access to reliable personal transportation to travel throughout Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford, Six Nations and Mississauga's of the Credit First Nation to visit programs within the community and provide on-site support
- A current and satisfactory Police Records Check
- A Vulnerable Sector Screening Report
