Job Summary
Take drink and food orders, communicate with bartenders, and present drinks to guests while monitoring alcohol consumption and intervening as needed. Assist supervisors in VIP Room operations, handle money per procedure, and resolve guest complaints immediately to ensure satisfaction guarantees are invoked. Promote casino events, serve as a public relations ambassador, and deliver food in the pub and poker room. Maintain a professional appearance, adhere to attendance guidelines, and attend all training meetings. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in a fast-paced casino environment.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Excellent customer service/communication skills
- Count money and change correctly
- Know or is able to learn tray service, cocktail ingredients
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
- Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Must have the ability to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs. for extended periods of time
- Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder, grip small items (i.e., pens, money, garnishes), bend, stoop and twist while serving cocktails, stand and walk for up to four hours wearing one inch (minimum height) heels
- Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
- Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening
