Job Summary

Lead beverage standards, menus, recipes, sales strategy, strategic purchasing, inventory, margin control, training and development, quality control, bar logistics, event beverage programs, and continued education across Elk Ave Hospitality. Set and manage beverage menus, develop and document cocktail, wine, beer, and spirit offerings, and own recipes, builds, garnishes, and service expectations. Lead strategic purchasing, evaluate vendor relationships, and oversee inventory, ordering, receiving, and par levels while monitoring recipe cost, pour cost, waste, and inventory variance. Build and maintain training programs for bartenders, servers, and managers, including guides, quizzes, and onboarding materials. Own quality control across concepts, conduct tastings, and ensure consistent execution of recipes, portioning, presentation, and service standards. Develop and manage event beverage packages for weddings, corporate functions, and large-scale events, coordinating with the Events Department and Profitability Manager. Maintain regular presence across multiple concepts, evaluate bar readiness, and provide direct leadership support during busy periods. Pursue sommelier certification and remain committed to continued learning in wine, spirits, beer, and profitability. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed while traveling between venues.

Required Qualifications

  • Understand cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage service
  • Can develop bartenders, bar leads, managers, and service teams
  • Think strategically about beverage sales, purchasing, margin, and guest experience
  • Can design and manage beverage programs for both restaurant operations and large-scale events
  • Have a strong eye for quality control and execution
  • Can build training materials and development programs that teams actually use
  • Communicate clearly with venue leadership, culinary teams, and senior leadership
  • Can operate effectively across multiple concepts and service styles
  • Are committed to continued education and growth within the beverage field
  • Must be willing to pursue sommelier certification
  • Must be willing to remain actively engaged in continued learning around wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, purchasing, sales, and profitability
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when business needs require
  • Must be able to travel between concepts and maintain regular presence in the bars and restaurants you support
  • Must be able to maintain a professional appearance and model leadership standards
