Beverage Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Diagnose trouble, plan, and perform all operations necessary to install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, rebuild, and dismantle complex manufacturing and support equipment, with special focus on advanced troubleshooting of control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on high-speed packaging lines. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to monitor equipment condition, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders for technical assistance, and lead multi-functional teams using lean manufacturing problem-solving processes to drive sustained improvements. Train production personnel on proactive activities and assist other technicians as priorities dictate while maintaining safe, clean work areas in compliance with OSHA, BCG, and food safety regulations. Work within autonomous maintenance methodologies with minimal supervision, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and traveling as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in mechanical, electrical engineering and or equivalent experience
  • 5 Years' experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical/controls/PLC systems
  • Experience with variable speed and servo drive programming and function
  • Possess a good understanding of computer and industrial networks
  • Ability to read, understands, and follow complex instructions, prints, and schematics
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to positively cooperate and communicate with coworkers, contractors, and management
  • Ability to obtain operator certification on designated equipment
  • Ability to work on ladders and lifts (as applicable and recommended) up to heights of 40 feet
  • Ability to wear OSHA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to bend, lift and stretch on a regular basis
  • Ability to follow BCG policies and procedures
  • Ability to consistently interact with others in a cooperative, respectful, and professional way
  • Ability to work within a team to reach a common goal
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to manage time, prioritizes, and organizes work effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed
  • Ability to work with power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely

  • Ability to teach and train production technicians
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently with mechanical assistance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop
  • Ability to repetitively lift, twist, stretch, and reach overhead
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment (e.g., pallet jack)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work with cleaning solutions and degreasers
  • Ability to work a varied nature with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain physical assets in a condition desired by management and in compliance with industry standards and government regulations
  • Ability to work within work teams with lean and autonomous maintenance methodologies fully utilized

  • Ability to perform and train production on preventive maintenance and other proactive activities to monitor and maintain equipment condition
  • Ability to coordinate with other technicians, production personnel, engineering, management, and other stakeholders to communicate and plan maintenance activities
  • Ability to coordinate with equipment/service vendors for technical assistance
  • Ability to plan and organize work activities
  • Ability to perform predictive maintenance tasks to properly plan routine activities
  • Ability to utilize lean manufacturing problem solving processes to lead multi-functional teams to problem resolution and sustained improvements
  • Ability to maintain safe, clean, and well-organized work areas
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to and follow all company policies, standards and procedures, regarding employment and workplace behavior, food safety (GMPs), ergonomic standards and safety requirements from OSHA, BCG and the location as well all local, state and federal regulations/laws which includes the ability to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations regarding lockout/tag out, hot work, fall protection, arc flash, confined space, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • prefer Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley systems experience including, but not limited to Siemens the Rockwell FactoryTalk suite of software, Logix platform, and proficient understanding of Allen-Bradley industrial networks, including but not limited to Device net
