Job Summary
Prepare and spray bespoke joinery including cabinetry, fitted furniture, doors, wall panelling, and timber windows using polyurethane paints, clear lacquers, water-based coatings, stains, and hardwax oils. Apply external water-based and intumescent fire-retardant coating systems per manufacturer specifications. Execute preparation work such as sanding, filling, priming, and denibbing to ensure finishes match approved samples and quality standards. Maintain spray booths and equipment, monitor stock levels, and support colleagues to deliver projects efficiently. Full-time permanent role in Basildon, Essex, with overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a paint sprayer within the bespoke joinery or high-end furniture manufacturing industry
- Excellent knowledge of polyurethane paints, clear lacquers, water-based coating systems and external timber coating systems
- Experience applying intumescent and fire-retardant coating systems
- Experience spraying external timber windows and doors to manufacturers' specifications
- Excellent preparation skills including sanding, filling, priming and denibbing
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing exceptional finishes
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads to meet production deadlines
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
