Job Summary
Activity Leader I at Benjamin Harrison YMCA – evenings, part-time. Responsible for the care of children in Play & Learn/Kids Adventure, ensuring a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment; foster children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth; interact positively with parents to develop a trusting relationship; lead age-appropriate activities; apply behavior management techniques per YMCA guidelines; maintain required certifications within 60-90 days of employment; supervise Play & Learn/Kids Adventure participants to ensure safety.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Knowledge of children's behavior and development
- Knowledge of age-appropriate activities (crafts, games, etc.)
- Ability to lead group activities
- Ability to use age-appropriate behavior management techniques
- Maintain current certifications in First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management, New Employee Orientation and other position-related training within 60-90 days of employment
