Job Summary
Remote Bengali-English interpreter needed for over-the-phone interpretation in healthcare and medical contexts. Provide accurate communication between Bengali and English speakers, adhere to interpreter code of conduct, take notes during calls, stay aware of medical terminology, participate in internal training, and pursue professional certifications. Offer fully remote work with a flexible schedule, contract type (full-time or part-time), and onboarding. International team, 500+ interpreters, services in 100+ languages. Requires 1+ years interpreting experience, native-level bilingual English/Bengali, and high school diploma in the native language. Technical requirements include a compatible computer (Mac or Windows), 4 Mbps internet (wired), and a noise-cancelling headset. International healthcare certifications are a plus. All applicants should expect contact from HR for pay rates, schedules, and conditions. Location constraint: worldwide remote except the USA. Employment type is CONTRACTOR.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma in your native language
- 1+ years of interpreting experience
- Proficiency/Bilingual/Native level of English and Bengali
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- Awareness in legal terminology is a plus
- International certifications in the healthcare industry are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)
- High emotional intelligence and tolerance to different cultures
- High level of communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
- Technical requirements: Mac or Windows with specific specs (MacOS 10.13+, Windows 10+) and reliable internet/4Mbps, noise-cancelling headset
