Job Summary
Provide in-person application and enrollment assistance to incarcerated individuals through the Maryland Health Connection, helping them understand health coverage options and complete eligibility applications for Medicaid, MCHP, and Qualified Health Plans. Document all outreach, enrollment, and case follow-up activities accurately in designated systems while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency protocols. Maintain certification as a Certified Application Counselor through the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange and participate in required trainings and continuing education. Work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in the Hagerstown region, meeting productivity, quality, and compliance expectations while collaborating with colleagues and community partners to support consumers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in customer service, outreach, or eligibility application assistance
- Ability to obtain Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification within 45 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
- Knowledge of public and private health coverage options and enrollment systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of diverse populations
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to regularly stand
- Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel

Desired Qualifications
