Job Summary
Benefits Specialist (Certified Application Counselor) provides in-person application and enrollment assistance through the Maryland Health Connection to incarcerated individuals, helping them understand health coverage options, complete eligibility applications, and enroll in Medicaid, MCHP, and Qualified Health Plans. Maintains CAC certification, participates in trainings, documents outreach and enrollment activities in Salesforce/HBX, ensures HIPAA and MARS-E compliance, conducts in-person outreach and enrollment events, and collaborates with colleagues and community partners to support consumers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of experience in customer service, outreach, or eligibility application assistance required
- Must obtain Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification within 45 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
