Job Summary

Process and administer the company's payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees while monitoring timekeeping and attendance. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, by assisting with enrollment, changes, claims, and open enrollment coordination. Maintain the HRIS platform and verify benefits data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Prepare payroll and benefits reports for management, handle employee inquiries regarding discrepancies, and assist in budget preparation and financial planning. Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and complete ad hoc projects as assigned by the Human Resources Director. This role supports the mission to democratize cannabis by managing payroll and benefits for our East Coast manufacturing team.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Pass a Federal and State criminal history background check
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintaining and updating payroll software and HRIS systems
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits laws and regulations
  • Technology savvy, with extensive experience in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Good understanding and experience with HR tools such as ATS and HRIS
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A working knowledge of employment law and legislation
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to foster collaboration, be a team player, though also independent and self-motivated
  • Coachable and can take full ownership of personal development, regularly soliciting feedback from teammates including those supervising, colleagues, and supervisor/s
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and desire to be accountable, transparent and proactive
  • Willing and able to be on site from time to time

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
