Job Summary
The Benefits/Human Resources Assistant coordinates and administers employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, FSA, HSA, COBRA, 401(k)) and supports payroll reconciliation, eligibility audits, and regulatory filings (ERISA, HIPAA, ACA). Responsibilities include processing invoices, auditing carrier invoices, managing leave programs including ADA, assisting with new hire onboarding and open enrollment communications, preparing census/compliance reports, and providing benefits guidance to employees. Role supports HR operations, including onboarding, interview scheduling, and participation in hiring events. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, customer service orientation, and proficiency with Excel/HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent related professional experience
- Understanding of benefits administration and compliance
- Experience with benefit audits and compliance reporting
- Working knowledge of leaves of absence and ADA regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel (including VLOOKUP)
- HRIS experience; Paycom preferred but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Bilingual is helpful
